Vicki Seabrook

Vicki is a member of The Law Society’s Clinical Negligence Panel. She qualified in 1979 and worked as a lawyer at The Royal College of Nursing. She left The Royal College of Nursing in 1985 and worked for several firms in London specialising in clinical negligence work before helping to set up Scrivenger Seabrook in April 1989. Vicki was named by The Lawyer magazine as one of the “Hot 100” lawyers in 2002. She also features in the Legal 500 and Chambers Directory as a leader in this field. She undertakes a wide range of clinical negligence work including dental negligence claims and she has recently had Court settlement approved in cases worth £5.4 million and £4.5 million respectively. Vicki is a Solicitor Director.

Sarah Newcombe

Sarah Newcombe - SS Law

Sarah qualified as a solicitor in 1991 having previously worked as a Staff Nurse. She therefore has considerable medical knowledge and undertakes clinical negligence work. Sarah joined Scrivenger Seabrook in 1998 having previously worked in London undertaking clinical negligence work. She undertakes a wide range of clinical negligence litigation and last year she concluded a brain damage claim using a structured settlement, the crystallised value of which would exceed £2 million.

Marc Folgate

Marc qualified in 1992 and worked for firms in Northamptonshire and Peterborough undertaking personal injury work. Marc has undertaken work on behalf of insurance companies but now only represents Claimants mainly on a No Win No Fee lawyer basis. He was involved in a £2.1 million High Court assessment of a road traffic accident claim and he undertakes a wide range of personal injury litigation to include disease claims, spinal injuries, head injuries and cases of Complex Regional Pain Syndrome. Marc is a member of The Law Society’s Personal Injury Panel. Marc also appears regularly in the media and participates in discussion programmes, often on the BBC, in which a compensation related topic is being discussed. He also lectures to members’ association conferences by invitation and is a Solicitor Director.

Helen Hillson

Helen Hillson - SS Law

Helen is a Solicitor who trained at Scrivenger Seabrook, aware of their expertise in the field of clinical negligence litigation. She qualified in 1999 and undertakes both clinical negligence and personal injury litigation cases. Helen has dealt with a wide range of cases to include road traffic claims, Employers’ Liability claims, cosmetic surgery claims and industrial disease claims, some of which have been significant in value and very complex.

Stephen Thorpe

Stephen is an experienced Litigation Executive. Stephen worked with Marc Folgate in Peterborough before rejoining Marc with Scrivenger Seabrook in 2002. Stephen undertakes a wide range of personal injury litigation to include road traffic claims and Employers’ Liability claims. He has been pursuing such claims on behalf of Claimants since 1998. He has pursued claims for industrial diseases such as “vibration white finger”, noise induced deafness and work related upper limb disorders. It is estimated that Stephen has successfully concluded over 1000 claims on behalf of Claimants, recovering damages in excess of £8 million during the last nine years.
